And yet another reason I am glad my kids aren't in the public highschool...

So, I got our papers all turned in today. That's a plus. Now..to get them enrolled into the classes at the school....

I don't know if they have a new system or if something is just that messed up this year, but they had a line 50 deep trying to change their schedules around and get new schedules. It is crazy! I was able to talk to the new high school music teacher and work out a plan for Patrick with his new desire to join band in his junior year. He will be a floater for the moment until they can find where he needs to be and he is willing to give him the bass lessons he is wanting! He was organized, friendly and actually KNEW music! I was amazed! He can even play piano! How cool is that?! You may laugh, but for Melcher, that's saying something, and I can say that... I graduated from there and was very involved in the music department.

So, I went in to talk to Mr. Horseman about the schedules by advise of the assistant helping Mr. Snook, the guidance counselor, and was told to come back Friday! He said things were just too busy and if they would have known before, they would have done it. Oh well, from the sounds of it they aren't going to have it figured out for anyone else either, so it's not just the homeschoolers.

I think the kids will be glad to have some down time before their school starts. Get everyone adjusted to the new schedules and figure out what we need to do as a family. Wow... Kelsey's first day at high school... it goes so fast.

Cherish every moment with your kids. You blink and they are all grown up.

Thanks for the comment on my blog. I've read somewhere that comments are like Blog Crack. LOL I agree -- it's so fun to see a comment. tee hee...

Hey -- I make up a schedule to see if my expectations are even meet-able/real/sane. I don't use a timer and follow the times to the dot.

I put the kiddos assignments on the white board for the day and they erase them as they go. If they get ahead -- then BONUS... more free time. But they shouldn't get behind, because some of it we all have to do together. Still -- I don't get much free time... I've got 2 babies I didn't even schedule. REAL LIFE... it doesn't get scheduled. LOL

Tori likes the schedule too... she uses hers. She rolls her eyes when I get behind. :giggle: Just wait sister... your time is coming...

I'm going in to Knoxville today to turn in my forms and to get Tori a sports physical. This is a first for me (open and dual enrolling).
